Who can see what

Private, Link only, Public — the one switch that controls your competition's audience.

Every competition has one visibility switch:

  • Private — only your organisation's members, signed in. The public URL shows nothing exists.
  • Link only — anyone holding the URL can view, but search engines are told not to index it and it never appears in our Discover directory. Right for "the club WhatsApp group, not the world".
  • Public — indexable, listed on your public org page, and eligible for the Discover directory if you opt in.

Divisions follow their competition — there is no per-division override, so one switch answers "who can see this event".

What changes with visibility

Public dashboards, standings JSON, share images and embeds all honour it: a private competition 404s everywhere public, link-only works but stays out of search.

Common questions

Can I go public later? Yes, any time — and back. Going back to private immediately 404s the public pages (cached copies can take up to a minute to fade).

Youth divisions? They default to shortened player names on anything public — see youth privacy.
