Org news & share cards

Your public page shows scores and standings. The News feed lets you add words: match reports, announcements, the weekend round-up — each one a shareable page with its own image card.

Where it lives

Open Settings → News in your console. You'll see a drafts queue, your published posts, and a composer. Manual posts are free on every plan — a free organisation publishing news is exactly the point.

Auto-drafts (Pro)

Turn on News auto-drafts in a division's Settings tab ("Draft a news post when results land"). From then on, whenever a result lands or a round completes in that division, we write a draft for you — a result post ("Riverside 3–1 Northside") or a round recap with the results grid and top of the table.

Drafts are cheap and disposable:

• They wait in your News tab badged ⚡ Auto — nothing publishes on its own.
• If you void or re-decide the fixture, the draft is flagged Result changed so you know to re-check it.
• We never auto-edit, auto-publish, or auto-delete anything.

The Monday-morning job becomes "review a few drafts, tap Publish."

Composing a post

• Headline is the title. For result posts, keep it as a scoreline (Home 3–1 Away) and the feed card renders it as a scorebug — big numerals and crests.
• Story is Markdown — the same editor as competition descriptions, with a hero image if you want one.
• Type picks the kind chip (Result, Announcement, Club news). Competition scopes the post (leave it on Whole organisation for a general post).

Publishing & the URL

Publishing stamps the post live and locks its URL. After that first publish the link never changes — edit the words as often as you like and every share already sent keeps working. Org-level posts are always public; a post scoped to a competition follows that competition's visibility.

Share cards

Every published post has an OG image (the preview that appears when you paste the link into WhatsApp or a group chat) and, for result posts, a Download image card button — a portrait 1080×1350 PNG sized for an Instagram/WhatsApp story. Download it and post it yourself: no account linking, no permissions to grant.

Archiving

Archive (the box icon next to a published post) takes a post off the public feed — its page returns "not found" until you bring it back. Nothing is deleted: archived posts live under Archived (N) at the bottom of the News tab (click to expand). From there, Republish puts a post back live at the same URL (the link was frozen at first publish), or delete it for good.

Common questions

Do I need Pro to publish news? No — writing and publishing posts is free. Only the automatic drafting of results is a Pro feature.

Will it post to Facebook/Instagram for me? No. We give you the image card to post yourself — see growing your club for the wider share loop.

Can I schedule a post for later? Not yet — publish is immediate.

Where do archived posts go? Into the collapsed Archived (N) list at the bottom of Settings → News. They're hidden from the public feed and their pages 404 until you republish.
