Inviting players to claim their profiles
Email claim invites from the Directory, read the availability grid, run match-day QR check-in, and unlink an account when needed.
A claimed player sees their own matches, RSVPs availability you can act on, and manages their own consent flags. Every claimed player is one less person messaging you "when do I play?". Available on all plans.
Send an invite
In Directory → Players, choose Invite to claim… next to a player and enter their email. They get the claim link by email, and only an account signed in with that exact address can accept it — a forwarded link doesn't move the profile to someone else. Invites last 14 days.
Typo in the address? Just invite again with the right one — one open invite per player, and sending a new one quietly withdraws the previous link. A pending invite shows as Invite pending with a Withdraw invite action.
Availability in the lineup picker
Once players RSVP from their player home, the fixture's lineup picker shows a chip next to each name: ✓ in, ✗ out, ? maybe — hover for their note. A dash (—) means no answer yet, or a player who hasn't claimed. A lime dot means they've checked in at the venue today.
Match-day check-in QR
At the top of a fixture page (until the match starts), Check-in QR mints a code you can pin up at the venue. Claimed players scan it and mark themselves present; the dot appears in your lineup picker. The code stops working at midnight local time. A player who hasn't claimed yet is pointed to ask you for a claim invite — nothing breaks.
Unlinking
Unlink (next to a claimed player in the Directory) detaches their login: they lose the profile on their player home, but every roster, result and lineup stays. The claim history is kept for your records, and you can invite them to claim again later.
What claiming never changes
- Date of birth stays organiser-side only — it is never shown to anyone, including on the player's own home (it only drives the under-16 consent rule).
- Unclaimed players are completely unaffected: no public card without consent, no availability chip, nothing new.
- Claiming never publishes anyone. A public player card needs the player's own show my name publicly consent and a plan that carries public cards — Pro or Pro Plus, or an Event Pass on the competition. On Community there are no public cards; everything on this page still works.
